Book Series with TAMU Press

HRI has been proud to partner with the Texas A&M University Press on two book series covering a range of topics throughout Texas and the Gulf coast.  Late HRI Endowed Chair for Biodiversity Dr. Wes Tunnell was the founding editor of these collections up until his passing in July 2015. Former HRI Senior Executive Director Dr. Larry McKinney then served as Series Editor, and former HRI Director Dr. David Yoskowitz served as Editor.

The Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies Series, started in 2007, focuses on the entire Gulf of Mexico. Manuscripts concerning science, policy, and management of large portions or the entire Gulf are welcome for consideration.  HRI sponsored research, faculty, and associates have priority within this series.

The Gulf Coast Books focuses attention on the region around the Gulf of Mexico, with special emphasis on the Texas Gulf Coast.  Manuscripts concerning topics relevant to the Gulf and the coastal zone for roughly fifty miles inland, including art, history, government, economics, archaeology, maritime studies, natural history, natural resources, or science, are invited for consideration.
