Kathryn (Kate) Idzorek

Kate Idzorek is the Associate Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications at HRI. She works across the institute to raise the profile of the exceptional work of the labs and champion the institute's holistic approach to a more sustainable future in the gulf.

Kate most recently joined us from the Texas Department of Agriculture where she developed and implemented communications and marketing solutions to champion food, seafood and fiber businesses across Texas. She has worked to design and promote holistic approaches to social and environmental problems throughout her career from fostering fair trade farming initiatives in Central America to local food and seafood business development in Alaska to economic empowerment initiatives supporting refugees in Utah.

Kate truly believes in a more sustainable future for all and is excited to promote the integrated solutions of HRI.

Kate was raised on the lakes of northern Minnesota and has lived and worked across the Western United States. She loves the outdoors and going on whatever adventures life brings. She also has two amazing kids!
