Jacob Robinson
A lifelong recreational fisherman from Maryland, Jacob’s passion for fishing sparked a desire to conserve the aquatic resources he cherishes. He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, where he graduated with his B.S. in Fish Conservation in May 2024. He is currently working on his M.S. in Marine Biology and conducting an acoustic telemetry study about the migration of Southern Flounder under the guidance of Dr. Matt Streich. Jacob’s favorite part about his work here, besides spending time on the water, is knowing he is contributing to the Sportfish Center’s mission of helping fisheries managers conserve the Gulf’s fisheries. When he is not in class or in the lab, Jacob still takes every chance he can to enjoy all the great fishing opportunities Texas has to offer.
