HRI is Proud to Announce the Launch of The Gulf Stream Podcast
After months of planning and anticipation, the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is proud to announce the launch of The Gulf Stream Podcast.
The Gulf Stream Podcast will be a platform for interesting and insightful conversations with a variety of guests about how to make the Gulf of Mexico, and the world, a better and more sustainable place. While some topics and ideas may be complex, the podcast will break down those ideas into simple concepts that are accessible to any listener.
“We’ve wanted to do a podcast here at HRI for quite some time and I’m really excited that it’s finally come to fruition. I hope that the podcast can not only be entertaining to the listener, but that it can also leave them a little more informed and inspired to do their part to help make the world a better place.”HRI Executive Director, Dr. David Yoskowitz
The podcast will be hosted by Dr. Yoskowitz, along with HRI Graduate Research Assistant, Maxwell McClure. A full list of The Gulf Stream’s production team can be found online.
Because HRI is an interdisciplinary research institute, podcast episodes will reflect that, hosting guests from multiple backgrounds. The first episode of the podcast features HRI’s Ambassador to the Gulf, Dr. Sylvia Earle. During her conversation with Dr. Yoskowitz, Dr. Earle describes what first inspired her to dedicate her life and career to the ocean, how she became involved with HRI, what inspires her most about the future, and much more.
Future podcast guests will include community partners, scientists, colleagues, and conservationists, among others.
Those interested can find The Gulf Stream on most major podcast platforms including, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Amazon and Stitcher, and the podcast can also be viewed on HRI’s YouTube channel.
