Blue Gulf Film Competition

The Harte Research Institute (HRI) for Gulf of Mexico Studies is excited to announce the BLUE Gulf Film Competition. Hosted by the BLUE Gulf Team, a motivated group of HRI PhD students, the mission is to engage the Gulf of Mexico community through education and film and to showcase the work of local filmmakers. If you have a short film addressing an ocean or coastal issue concerning the Gulf of Mexico — from your own backyard to the deep sea —consider entering it into our BLUE Gulf Film Competition.

Winners will have their films shown at the BLUE on Tour – Corpus Christi Film Festival in January 2016. BLUE on Tour is a traveling film festival and conservation initiative, part of the larger BLUE Ocean Film Festival & Conservation Summit, featuring films that highlight the importance of the ocean. This year, the premier BLUE event will take place in Monaco in early November, prior to our event in Corpus Christi.

The BLUE Gulf team is now accepting films through October 15th. Films must be uploaded to Vimeo. A link with contact information should be sent to Blue.gulf.film.competition@gmail.com. For details, rules and submission forms, visit the BLUE Gulf Film Competition website.

Let’s show our Third Coast pride and put the BLUE back in the GULF!
