Nature-Based Solutions Open House
5:30 pm
7:30 pm
501 Santiago Park Lane
Kingsville, Texas
The Nature-Based Solutions Open House is set for Thursday, September 18, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dick Kleberg Park Rec Center (501 Santiago Park Lane, Kingsville, Texas).
This free event is part of a Bringing Baffin Back initiative project, Developing Designs to Increase Resilience and Habitat in the Baffin Bay Watershed, funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s National Coastal Resilience Fund.
The project’s goal is to create four designs for nature-based stormwater solutions, such as rain gardens, wetlands, and bioswales, that are community-informed, manage stormwater sustainably, and improve water quality, habitat, and greenspace.
Whether you live or work in the watershed, want to learn more about local conservation efforts, or simply want to support the Bringing Baffin Back initiative, your input matters. This Open House is a great opportunity to get involved in efforts that benefit upstream lands, downstream waters, and the surrounding community.
The Open House event will include:
- A short presentation at 6 p.m. introducing nature-based solutions and this project
- Hands-on displays and interactive activities for all ages
- Opportunities to share feedback that will shape the design of four nature-based infrastructure designs
- Free food and refreshments for attendees
