Raised in Eufala, Oklahoma, Christian always wanted to be a scientist. His love for science started in elementary and never stopped, and loved it so much he went back to it after a short hiatus from school, when he spent five years in the Marine Corps. Chemistry started as an afterthought but it would become a focus when he realized how chemical structures not only share a bond with each other but how they bond the world.

Christian enjoys getting to be hands on with equipment, on field days, and learning statistical programs. When Christian isn't home with his family, you can find him exercising at the gym on campus. His future plans are to pursue a doctorate in Chemical Oceanography and potentially another doctorate in Genetic Counseling, then watching his children grow up. He became a NOAA CCME Scholar in Fall 2022.
